In this day and age there is an enormous amount of pressure on employees, managers, HR and board members. Tensions, disappointments and disagreements within a team, with colleagues or with your manager are part of this. At times this will pass by but if you get stuck and maybe even ill, mediation is an excellent intervention to use. It contributes to opening up a dialogue and discussing the resulting undesirable situation.
What
As a mediator I guide parties and help them to communicate in a (different) way that leads to mutual understanding. Together you can investigate what possible acceptable solutions there are.
Why
- Reintegration
- Cooperation
- Communication
- Understanding
- Management or instruction style
- Mutual expectations
- Competencies
- Due process
- Status
- Autonomy
How
Prevention
When communication becomes increasingly difficult and tensions rise, you get distracted and eventually lose job satisfaction. It is my experience that by intervening on time with the use of mediation, dropout due to work-related complaints is prevented or limited. By using mediation at an early stage, irritations and tensions do not lead to conflict or illness. read motre >
Teams
A well-functioning team (think of a team where there are no irritations, quarrels or differences of opinion), sounds ideal. But the occasional argument or disagreement has a function: it promotes creativity and puts people back on their toes. However, when irritations and quarrels get the upper hand, the team can no longer work together constructively and these tensions can even lead to dropout. In this situation, involving a third independent would be an excellent intervention to use. read more >
